Privacy policy

Effective 12 October 2026.

How Walkable needs no account, sets no cookies and runs no analytics. This policy explains the little data that passes through it.

How Walkable is run by Crunchy OÜ ("we"). It covers howwalkable.com, its API, and the How Walkable app in ChatGPT and other AI assistants.

What we receive

The AI assistant app does not ask for your name, email address, account details, chat history or your own location. Assistants such as ChatGPT may attach general context to their requests, such as your approximate location; How Walkable does not use or store it, and rates only the place name the assistant passes to it.

How long we keep it

We do not keep logs of the places people look up or of visitors' IP addresses. To avoid repeating lookups, the server keeps recent place names and their coordinates in memory, not linked to any person, and discards them when it restarts or when the cache fills. Our server keeps a small error log, without place names or IP addresses, which is overwritten as new entries arrive.

Who else processes data

We do not sell data, share it for advertising, or build profiles of anyone.

Your choices and rights

Because we keep no record of who looked up what, there is usually nothing about you for us to access or delete. You can still ask us any question about your data, or exercise your rights under laws such as the GDPR, by emailing [email protected]. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

In ChatGPT, you can disconnect the How Walkable app at any time in ChatGPT's settings. What ChatGPT itself stores about your conversations is covered by OpenAI's privacy policy.

Children

How Walkable is a general audience service and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date.
