# The most walkable neighborhoods in New York City

By [Oscar Higson-Spence](https://howwalkable.com/about#author). Updated 22 October 2026

20 neighborhoods of New York City ranked by walkability, each scored across the area around its own center. Five tie for the top score of 100/100, among them Greenwich Village, Little Italy and SoHo. All 20 score 70 or more, where most errands can be done on foot, and the lowest we rank is Coney Island (77). 11 of them score 98 or more, so the order among those turns on small differences.
